Board Lines

RADIOACTIVE CALIFORNIA

When it’s cold outside… Drift your mind to warm Cali!

This line contains various adaptations of an original piece of artwork by Radioactive Kickboards owner and founder.  The original is an oil-on-canvas painting very similar to the slightly digitally enhanced ‘Original Orange’ version available from this line.  All digitalizations (on other boards in the line) were created by the founder as well.  “It was inspiring for me, as I hope it is inspiring for all of you (especially in cooler climates).” Creator K.

Whenever you are indoors, doing a hard kick set, and it’s snowing outside on a cold northern winter’s day, just look at your board and imagine the ‘Radioactive’ wave front of the California sun pictured on your board.  And maybe you want to add a twist of psychedelic coloring too?!  We have boards for that too.  Whatever your preference, this line has you covered.

HUMOR SERIES

Humor me!

This line was created for those with a few cents of humor.   It’s not all ‘bust a gut’ , but we do have to keep it PG, people.  Graphics are the result of hard work by our design team to gather existing art (from everyday objects, etc.), enhance it to fit our profile, and combine it with original creations (artists’ work) for the works you see.  The ‘clever’ phrases are thought up by our genius team.  Blame them!

TRAINERS

The simplicity of resistance training!

This line was created to initialize the technical elements of our products.  It is the beginning of much more advanced things to come in the realm of kickboard resistance.  This line is optimized for advanced kickers (having minimum advanced intermediate kicking abilities).  It is engineered for resistance!

Graphically, we only utilize our Symbols and (Trademark) logos in various colors on one side of all boards.   The reverse side (or the bottom side) is plain black and is specially engineered for hydrodynamic resistance.

While we normally design our boards to reduce board-drag with slick smooth surfaces that enhance the look of our graphics, while providing a hydrodynamic surface.  We customize the trainer to do the opposite; increase drag.  This helps develop a stronger kick!  So that when the highly resistant (‘high drag’) board is taken away, the swimmer has developed a stronger and faster kick.

While we are developing numerous advanced techniques, current drag control is achieved through two factors; weight and surface texture.  It’s certainly obvious that kicking with a light, inflated flotation-device is easier than kick sets using a large rock.  Thus, board weight is significant to how difficult you intend your training to be.  This board line increases the density of materials, thus increasing the weight of the board.  But don’t worry!  You won’t sink during kick sets; It still floats very easily!

The second factor is the board’s surface drag resistance.  A slick board glides through the water like a torpedo, or more accurately a surfboard.  Whereas, a rough sandpaper surface will tend to resist forward motion.  The swimmer’s ability to kick is the single most important factor in determining the level of training resistance.  Faster kickers (or kickers with fins) are able to handle heavier and higher drag boards better.

NOTES;

IMAGE NOTE: Product images on this website are merely a representation, and as accurate as we can show the images representing the products.  The actual printed graphics of boards may be slightly darker in tint since you are viewing glowing pixels on the screen (website viewing), while ink printed material is usually a darker hue.  The image on your board is an exact ink replication of the photos viewed on the website (of course in much larger format).

We use advanced materials and design elements to bring you the best product possible.
